Jordan Clay Target

The Trap Team is open to students in grades six through 12 who have completed their MnDNR Youth Firearms Safety Certificate.

The Sporting Clays Team is a high school team open to students in grades nine through twelve. The team will occasionally accept younger students if they can pass a proficiency test.

You must have a MnDNR Youth Firearms Safety Certificate by the start of the shooting season for which you are registering. The certification is hunting-centric but is the most widely recognized youth safety certification. Traditional classroom, hybrid, and online courses are available depending on your student's age. Students must be at least eleven years old to begin the certification process.

Outside of the Youth Firearms Safety Certification, no experience is required to join the Trap Team. We have taught hundreds of youth how to shoot.

The Sporting Clays Team requires either two years of participation on the Trap Team or passing a proficiency test.

Students are eligible if they meet one of the following criteria:

• Attend Jordan Public Schools and live in the district
• Are open-enrolled into Jordan Public Schools
• Are home-schooled and live in the district
• Are online students not associated with a physical school that has a League team, and live in the district

Students who live in the district but are open-enrolled in a different school must compete for that school if it has a team. If not, eligibility reverts to the district of residence.
